Photography can often be a solitary pursuit, and as such, it might be hard to know what to do when you feel like you are stuck in a rut and unable to improve. Of the tips, the most salient for me was not pushing yourself outside your comfort zone often enough. It is certainly easy to fall into shooting the same subject matter in the same style over and over; after all, we all have preferences and manners of working. But if you never experiment or try something outside your comfort zone, not only are you unlikely to expand your creative palette, you are unlikely to challenge your technique and thus, to improve. Even if you do not enjoy such creative expeditions, simply pushing yourself a bit will improve your technique, something that you can then apply to shooting the things you enjoy.
