Today, publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Tantalus Media announced that multiplayer for up to four players is available in Stellaris: Console Edition. You can finally “pursue your galactic ambitions cooperatively or vie against one another to completely crush the… empires of your closest friends and family.” Unlike the game’s other expansions, the multiplayer update is completely free for all those who purchased it on Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
Stellaris is an evolution of the grand strategy genre with space exploration at its core. It features complex gameplay, a diverse selection of aliens, and emergent storytelling like many modern titles. According to Paradox Interactive, Stellaris contains “engaging moments that reward interstellar exploration” as you traverse, discover, interact, and learn more about the characters you encounter.
Stellaris: Console Edition features optimized controls so you don’t have to use a mouse and keyboard. They feel natural and if you’ve played a strategy game on consoles in the past, you’ll feel right at home.
