Comparing the Sony 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS to the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS

Sony now has two newer high-level supertelephoto zoom lenses on the market, and since they have overlapping zoom ranges, you might be wondering which is the right choice for you. This great comparison takes a look at both lenses and gives lots of sample photos to help you decide which is right for you.

Coming to you from Alpha Shooters, this great double video comparison takes a look at the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS and FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS lenses to help you decide which is the right one for you. I’m currently stuck in the same quandary myself, with the allure of the extra reach of the 200-600mm (and its price that sits $500 below its cousin) tilting the scales, but with the 100-400mm offering two thirds of an extra stop (at the wide end, one third at the tele end) and showing decent performance with a 1.4x teleconverter. It is not an easy decision, but at the same time, it seems one will likely be happy with either lens.

Check out part two of the comparison below:

Do you own either of these lenses? Let me know what you think of them in the comments! (Seriously, help me decide!)
