With the Fujifilm X-T4 making most of the headlines, X-T3 users will be delighted to learn that their cameras are about to receive what looks to be quite a boost to their camera’s performance.
Fujifilm has never been shy from rolling out significant upgrades via firmware updates, and this update to the X-T3 seems no different if the rumors prove correct.
The New Camera is reporting that there will be improvements to the phase-detect autofocus and improved low-light autofocus sensitivity of up to three stops. There will also be the addition of HDR functionality and the option to shoot 1080 video at 240 frames per second.
In the past, firmware updates have been rolled out by Fuji to address serious shortcomings, such as those that resolved issues with the X-H1 which would often lock up or reset itself. Significant upgrades were offered to the X-T2 back in 2017, bringing bracketing, additional ISO options, and improved face-detect autofocus.
Given that the X-T3 is generally regarded as a near-perfect camera, this batch of firmware tweaks might not be groundbreaking but it’s refreshing to see the manufacturer trying to improve an already excellent product, especially just as its successor is packing some meaty specifications.
Other than turning it into an X-T4, what firmware upgrades would you like to see for your X-T3? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
