As part of a relatively big batch of announcements, Canon announced today the successor to their semi-professional DSLR line, the Canon EOS 90D.
One of Canon’s older DSLR lines that roots from the Canon EOS 10D (released in 2003) fondly called as the EOS two-digit series for semi-professional APS-C cameras has been updated today with the announcement of the Canon EOS 90D. The 90D boasts of a 32.5 Megapixel CMOS sensor powered by a DIGIC 8 image processor, similar to it’s smaller twin brother, the EOS M6 mark II. It is interesting that Canon released the two new camera bodies to cater to those who have certain preferences over DSLR and mirrorless camera bodies.
The 90D packs capabilities like 10fps continuous shooting, 45-point cross-type auto-focus with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, maximum ISO of 25600 for Still images and 12800 for video. It’s capable of 4K, 120p High frame rate full HD shooting, 4K frame grab and an on-board 4K Time-lapse mode. The camera comes with the now standard WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It has the same vari-angle touchscreen LCD like its predecessors.
The new Canon EOS 90D camera is now available for pre-order with a $1,199 price tag for the 90D Body-only set, $1,349 for the body+EF 18-55mm kit and $1,599 for the body+18-135mm all around zoom lens kit.
