AMD announced new processors at CES 2020 for the notebook form factor, showcasing the performance of the new Ryzen 7 4800U, rocking eight Zen 2 cores (with 16 threads), a base and boost clock speed of 1.8GHz up to 4.2GHz, and eight Radeon Vega cores for graphics processing.

This is all based on the newer 7nm manufacturing process with a TDP of just 15W. AMD also managed to improve battery life by offering up to 2x the performance per watt. We’re excited to get our hands on laptops with these new Ryzen processors to see just how they compare against what we got with the Surface.

First laptops with these new Ryzen mobile processors will launch in Q1 of 2020.
